A Taste of Cuba, A Tribute to Benni

Many years ago, two determined Cubanos embarked on a daring journey from Cuba, setting sail on a makeshift raft crafted from a ladder and four inner tubes. Accompanied by a packet of biscuits, a gallon of water, and their beloved pet pig named Benni, they braved the open sea. Rescued by the American Coast Guard near Key West, they were brought to Miami, where they received a warm welcome and a Coca Cola. Despite their hardships, they forged ahead, fueled by dreams and a deep love for their homeland's flavors.

Years later, with fond memories of their journey and the loss of their cherished mascot Benni, the two friends established a unique culinary haven in Hialeah Gardens. They opened a grill with a thatched roof, serving authentic ''Jama'' that pays homage to their roots. Named ''Jama Benn Jama, a Cubanaso-BBQ,'' the restaurant is a tribute to their journey and beloved pets.
